About This Event
Representatives from groundwater agencies in Monterey, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Ynez, and San Antonio will share updates on SGMA implementation in their regions, including progress on groundwater sustainability plans, actions underway, and what growers should expect moving forward.
Mark Battany will share how Land IQ is using evapotranspiration (ET) data to better understand agricultural water use. He’ll highlight work in the Santa Ynez Valley and Paso Robles Basin, including how ET measurements and consumptive use estimates are being used to support SGMA planning and decision-making. He will also share efforts to identify potential water conservation measures in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Attendees will also have the option to join a short vineyard tour following the event, where Taylor Jones (Star Lane & Dierberg) will discuss eight years of no-till farming and native cover cropping.
