Pages from the Diary of an Ex-Slave by Jo-Ann Wilson

About This Event

Celebrate Juneteenth by allowing yourself to be transported to the 1800s through live music, dance, and gripping narrative as Jo-Ann Wilson shares excerpts from her historical fiction novel, The Diary of an Ex-Slave

This interactive, oratorio style reading features a variety of musicians, singers, actors, and dancers, bringing the story of a young enslaved woman's escape to freedom—and subsequent life as an abolitionist and storyteller— to life.

This event is provided in partnership with the North Fork chapter of Coming to the Table, a group working to foster racial healing and justice.
