About This Event
Join Us For The JFCS Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon
Transform lives, inspire hope, and build a stronger community with us. We warmly invite you to the Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon on January 19, 2024.
As one of the largest integrated health nonprofits in Maricopa County, Jewish Family & Children's Service (JFCS) is dedicated to strengthening our community through comprehensive behavioral health, healthcare and social services programs. We take pride in serving people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds, and the Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon is our chance to come together and fortify that commitment.
Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon: Where Stories Inspire Action
From 11:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (MST), share a table, enjoy a meal and listen to inspiring words from community leaders and powerful narratives from those we serve – tales of resilience and transformation – that demonstrate the impact of our programs. As you're moved by these stories, remember, you play an instrumental role in crafting them.
Make a Meaningful Difference
Our goal? Raise over $300,000 to impact the lives of more than 40,000 of our community's most vulnerable children, teens, and adults. Here’s how your participation in the Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon can impact lives:
- A $5,000 donation supports 50 individuals in need
- A $2,500 donation provides 20 emergency food boxes
- A $1,000 donation helps domestic violence survivors pay the rent
- An $800 donation provides emergency lodging for one adult
- A $400 donation covers necessary utilities
- A $250 donation supports education for youth
Join Us: Get Your Tickets Today!
Individual tickets are priced at $275. Additionally, we are delighted to offer various sponsorship tiers, from Family Guardian at $2,500 to Family Champion at $50,000. Each tier comes with special acknowledgements, including logo or name placement on our website, mentions in our newsletters and a spot in our event slideshow.

Keynote Speaker
David Lujan
Director, Arizona Department of Child Safety
David Lujan was appointed Director of the Arizona Department of Child Safety by Governor Katie Hobbs in April 2023.
He began his career as an attorney for the Arizona State Senate after graduating from Arizona State University with a Juris Doctor degree. He decided to run for elected office in 2004 and served as a state representative from 2004 to 2010 and as a state senator from 2011 to 2013. During this time, David helped launch Defenders of Children, a non-profit organization that provides free legal representation to abused children and adult victims of domestic violence. As staff attorney for the organization, he worked with Arizona’s and Utah’s attorney generals to open the first non-profit in Colorado City to provide legal services to victims of child abuse.
He became President and CEO of Children’s Action Alliance in November 2020. Under his leadership, the organization achieved a significant number of policy priorities, including increased stipends for kinship foster care providers; expanding access to health coverage for youth transitioning out of foster care; and $800 million in new annual funding for public education.
