Growing Together Gala

Justin Hayashi founded New Engen, a Seattle-based digital marketing agency, and has grown it into a firm with over 450 employees. Under his leadership, New Engen has become known for accountable, measurable marketing and a commitment to scaling growth responsibly for its clients. Prior to founding New Engen, Justin led marketing analytics and media at Zulily, overseeing customer acquisition through the company's IPO and early growth.

Beyond the agency, Justin is deeply invested in creating opportunity for those facing systemic barriers. He previously served on the board of Transitional Resources, an organization providing housing, employment, and recovery support to low-income individuals living with mental illness. That same conviction—that everyone deserves a pathway forward—is what draws him to Smile Farms' mission. Justin is a committed supporter of Smile Farms, recognizing that meaningful change requires sustained investment and genuine partnership.

2026 Smile Farmers of the Year - James Cuomo & Kevin Lipton

We are so proud to announce our TWO Smile Farmers of the Year for 2026!

James Cuomo, CP Unlimited

James was the first farmer hired through the supportive employment program for the Smile Farms project here at Cora Hoffman Center. His longevity is a testament to how this program has changed his quality of life. James loves working in the greenhouse growing peppers and other vegetables. James is a very organized person who takes care of the greenhouse. He makes sure all the plants are watered, cleans up the grow beds by pulling any weeds that have grown, and adds soil when necessary. James works well with everyone and gets excited when it is time to harvest. James is very deserving of this nomination because of his years of service and his future years to come.

Kevin Lipton, CP Unlimited

Kevin is our Greenhouse manager; he takes his job very seriously. Kevin has a natural gift for farming and gardening and is very dedicated to his craft. Kevin nurtures the peppers and other vegetables that we grow. He also does his own research on which herbs grow the best. He is a team player but also knows when to take the lead. It is my pleasure to nominate Kevin Lipton for farmer of the year.
