Visionary Voices for sustainable new visions in planning: women to the front

About This Event

Join us this summer and fall for Visionary Voices – conversations with planners, organizers, and researchers about the built environment. Each event will feature a panel, Q&A, and time to meet and chat over refreshments and a beverage of your choice!

Panelists:

  • Lindy Wordlaw, AICP, Director of Climate and Environmental Justice Initiatives, Chicago Department of the Environment

  • Olga Bautista, Executive Director, Southeast Environmental Task Force

  • Raquel Garcia-Alvarez, Policy Manager, Forest Preserves of Cook County

  • Nina Idemudia, AICP, CEO CNT, moderator

Planners have noticed that a historically male-dominated field skews toward planning for men— what will it look like to build cities with women at the front of mind? Panel members will share stories of how their identity inspires their practice, with a focus on sustainability and community.

Join us for a panel discussion, Q&A, conversation and networking with light refreshments. Free, but registration required so we know how much food to buy!

We’re also planning two events for later this year…

September: Visionary Voices on Think AND Do: local leaders + policy advocates making change together

November:  Visionary Voices on Climate-Induced Migration/Displacement

Want to sponsor this or another 2024 Visionary Voices event? Please contact Gordon Mayer, gmayer@cnt.org
