Dr. David Whalen is the Associate Vice President for Curriculum and a Professor of English at Hillsdale College. He received his BA, MA, and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, and he has written on Great Books education, Renaissance Poetry, and the works of John Henry Newman. Dr. Whalen is the recipient of a Weaver Fellowship from the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, the Salvatori Fellowship from the Heritage Foundation, and the Daugherty Teaching Award from Hillsdale College. He and his wife Janet have eleven children.
