About This Event
Are you weary? Exhausted? Overwhelmed? In need of a night of fun and joy and hope? Join us on Friday, October 23, for Moms' Night Out, an event created specifically for foster and adoptive moms!
Being the caretaker of children is hard, but motherhood comes with its own set of burdens, worries, calendars, and to-do lists. And when you add in the trauma inherent in foster care and adoption, it's no wonder that so many moms are worn thin. That's why we have created this event with you in mind. Come hear from Sarah McIlvenna, a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years experience.
Dinner and childcare will be provided.
About the topic:
Tending the Sacred Mother: Emotional Awareness, Faith and Soul-Sustaining Care
Led by Sarah McIlvenna
As women, we navigate many roles daily—wife, mother, Uber driver, chef, cleaner, problem-solver, and a hundred other roles. In the midst of it all, we live on an emotional roller coaster. We carry wounds and broken places, but also hope, possibility, and change. Occasionally, our emotions are named and validated. More often, they are buried, clung to, or spilled out onto others.
Sarah will guide attendees through identifying and understanding their emotions—what they are, where they come from, and why they show up the way they do. Additionally, we will look at common ideas of self-care, moving beyond surface-level fixes toward sustainable, meaningful practices. Through a therapeutic and faith-based lens, participants will be given practical tools, ideas, and resources to help process emotions in day-to-day life and identify self-care rhythms that truly support wholeness, healing, and growth.
