Youth Mental Health First Aid: From an Islamic Perspective
Pre-Coursework completion: December 4, 2026
Live Sessions: December 8 & 10, 2026 (both days mandatory)
Timing: 6-9 pm CT (3 hours) on both December 8 & 10, 2026
Total Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours inclusive of coursework and two live sessions
ISLA is proud to partner with Khair Collective to present Youth Mental Health First Aid from an Islamic Perspective.
This program blends evidence-based mental health support with an Islamic framework, focusing on supporting youth within Islamic schools and community organizations. Registrants that enroll and complete all required pre- and post- course work, and attend both live sessions will receive Certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing which is valid for 3 years.
Course Requirements:
Enrolling in the Youth Mental Health First Aid course, completion of pre-course work, attendance at two live sessions (each session 3 hours), and post-course work. Approximately 10 hours of work in total.
Important Points:
- Deadline to register: November 30, 2026
- December 4, 2026: Deadline to have enrolled & completed 2 hours of Pre-course work
- December 8 & 11, 2026: Live Sessions
- Part One - December 8, 7-10 pm EST
- Part Two - December 10, 7-10 pm EST
- Total of Two 3 Hour training sessions (6 hours Total)
- December 18th, 2026: Deadline to complete post-course work
- Mandatory participation in an ISLA moderated WhatsApp group.
- In order to participate in the training, registrants must enroll and complete the pre-course work.
- To earn a certificate, participants are required to attend both training sessions and complete the post-course work.
- Limited to 30 attendees
- Registration Fee: $60/person
Audience:
School educators, leaders, parents, board members, youth group leaders, and community members who work with youth (or who have children of their own).
Facilitators:
Dr. Ali Syed, DO, Community Psychiatrist, and Additional Khair Collective Staff
Important Note:
Participants must must enroll, complete pre-courswork, attend live classes, and submit post-coursework in the order and by the deadlines stated in order to receive Certification by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing
