75th Anniversary Shining Stars Event Sponsorship

About This Event

Please join us in making an impact in the community

For 75 years, The Reading Center/Dyslexia Institute of Minnesota has been changing the lives of students with dyslexia. We have reached over 18,000 students and count you among a vast network of families, alumni, teachers, and friends who help support us in what we do best – achieve literacy for all!

We invite you to partner with us for our 75th Anniversary signature event, Shining Stars, and Dyslexia Awareness Month, and celebrate more awareness of dyslexia, a common condition that interferes with an individual’s ability to learn the pivotal task of reading and affects as many as one in five people.

Your sponsorship will help us provide the following events, and in appreciation, we will celebrate your support before, during, and after the events to our incredible community!

  • 75th Anniversary Kickoff, Sept. 30, Rochester: Rochester Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting, Mayor’s Proclamation @TRC, and lighting of Mayo Plummer building to “Go red for dyslexia!”
  • Dyslexia Simulation, Oct. 6 @TRC, Rochester and Oct. 13 @TRC, Woodbury: Immersive, in-person experience that allows participants the opportunity to experience the struggles that students with dyslexia face each day in a school setting. This event is free and open to the public.
  • Storytime with Dyslexic Author, Michael Hall, Oct. 10, Twin Cities location TBD: Join bestselling author and illustrator Michael Hall for a special Storytime! A dyslexic author best known for Red: A Crayon's Story, Perfect Square, and My Heart Is Like a Zoo, Michael will read one of his beloved books and sign books following the event.
