Watershed Program with Purdue Extension Floyd County and Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation District

Join Purdue Extension Educator Gina Anderson and Floyd County SWCD Educator Angel Jackson for a fun two hour learning experience on what a watershed is, how the watershed plays a role in our daily lives, and what you as an individual can do to help keep the watershed healthy. During the program, there will be a chance to help build a watershed model and to play the Watershed Game. Both of these activities will help enhance the learning experience.

Gina Anderson's Bio: 

Gina Anderson, Purdue Extension Educator, with Purdue Extension Floyd County has been serving our community for the last 13 years. Gina has a B.S. in horticulture production and marketing and an M.S. in agriculture education. Gina teaches on a variety of agriculture and natural resource topics. Some of the more popular topics are: vegetable gardening, natural resources, invasive plants, pond management, bee keeping, and pollinators.

Angel Jackson's Bio:

Angel Jackson is the Director / Educator of the Floyd County Soil & Water Conservation District.  She has worked for the District for 19 years, with the last seven serving as the Director.  Angel enjoys sharing the mission of the District “to educate the public about soil, water, and other natural resources”.  That is why you might find her in a classroom of students or a room full of the public at an outreach event.  Helping the public understand the precious natural resources we have around us and how to protect them.  As well as, connecting landowners with the resources they need to implement conservation on their property.
