2024 IPAS Piano Summit

About This Event

Join concert pianist, music educator and composer Dr. Michael Schneider for a music festival that will take your child's piano playing to the next level. This summit is open to beginner, intermediate and advanced piano students, aged 6 and up. Registration includes daily attendance from 9am-12pm and a summit t-shirt.

Beginner participants will be introduced to primary concepts including note-reading, rhythm, keyboard skills, and ensemble playing. They will participate in fun musical games and activities and will also have the opportunity to learn about composers and hear live performances by world-class musicians in our ‘Composer’s Corner’ segment.

Intermediate participants will work on strengthening musical concepts including: sightreading, rhythm, theory, harmony, ear training, and ensemble playing. Daily worksheets and group projects will reinforce the teaching material in a fun and engaging way. They will also have the opportunity to have a 1:1 lesson with master teacher, Dr. Michael Schneider, and learn about composers in our ‘Composer’s Corner’ segment.

Advanced piano offers world-class instruction and a chance to improve not only technical skills but also expand artistic horizons in a collegiate-type atmosphere that will include components such as technique, repertoire, and master classes, as well as learn in-depth knowledge about famous composers in our ‘Composer’s Corner’ segments. Advanced Piano participants will have additional opportunities to have 1:1 lessons with master teacher, Dr. Michael Schneider.

The week ends with all participants performing in the Musical Showcase for family and friends in the final hour of the camp week!
