Thursday, October 22
5:30pm Social, 6:00pm Program
Book Signing: 5:30-5:45pm; 7:00-7:15pm

Join Charlotte Moss, one of the most celebrated and enduring voices in interior design, and award-winning architect Stan Dixon in conversation as they describe the challenges and triumphs they faced during the renovation of her 1930’s Farmington home originally designed by famed local architect Marshal Wells. Moss and Dixon share the same philosophy to architecture and design: it is a collaboration involving traditional architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urbanism, craftmanship and the allied arts. Their latest books Charlotte Moss at Home: In Virginia and Home: The Residential Architecture of D. Stanley Dixon exemplify this philosophy of creating an historically based aesthetic while embracing influences of modern design. Dreaming and imagining are only the first steps; bringing a vision to life through thoughtful execution is where true design begins.

Charlotte Moss holds honorary doctorate degrees from both the New York School of Interior Design and Virginia Commonwealth University, her alma mater. Stan Dixon, AIA, is the president and founder of his Atlanta-based firm, D. Stanley Dixon Architect, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee. Achieving that vision required an extraordinary team: architects steeped in Jeffersonian Classicism, a landscape architect and planner who placed nature at the heart of the design, and a golf course architect whose course unified the entire landscape.
