An Evening with Dean Baquet

Join Suncoast Searchlight for an evening with Dean Baquet, former executive editor of The New York Times and Executive Editor of its Local Investigations Fellowship, for a conversation about the future of local journalism, the importance of accountability reporting and what it takes to sustain strong independent news in our communities.

The one-hour conversation will be moderated by Suncoast Searchlight Executive Editor-in-Chief Emily Le Coz.

Attendees are invited to submit questions for Baquet when registering. Questions will be reviewed and selected for inclusion in the discussion.

The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Donations to support Suncoast Searchlight’s nonprofit journalism are welcome.

Members, supporters and community partners will receive separate invitations to a private reception before the public program.

This event is part of the Searchlight Series, made possible with support from Gulf Coast Community Foundation and community memebers like you.

This event is free and open to the public. If you value independent local journalism and conversations like these, donations to support Suncoast Searchlight’s work are welcome.
