About This Event
Welcome to National Ataxia Foundation’s 2026 Ataxia Clinical Training (ACT)!
In Memory of Carol Tate
Along with ACT clinical advisor Dr. Antoine Duquette (CHUM), the NAF Clinical Services team warmly welcomes you to ACT 2026.
As part of the 2026 cohort, you will join residents, fellows, and attending neurologists from around the world for 3 days of intensive ataxia clinical education and training.
With faculty comprised of leading ataxia center directors like Dr. Jeremy Schmahmann (Mass General), Dr. Liana Rosenthal (Johns Hopkins), and Dr. Theresa Zesiewicz (University of South Florida), ACT provides a “deep dive” into ataxia diagnostics and clinical care. Expect hands-on clinical demonstrations, panels, expert lectures, and networking opportunities with fellow providers, speakers, patients & caregivers, and industry partners.
Sample session titles:
-A Practical Guide to Diagnosing Ataxias
-Medication & Symptomatic Therapies
-Non-Motor Symptoms
-Living with Ataxia Patient Panel
plus: in-depth exploration into cerebellar anatomy and physiology, acquired, dominant, and recessive ataxias, genetic testing, and more.
ACT is held alongside NAF’s annual patient conference. ACT attendees can expect plenty of patient engagement opportunities throughout the weekend. Our NAF community eagerly anticipates meeting the next generation of ataxia care experts.
Use this page to register for ACT 2026. Spots are limited; sign up now to secure your place!
-
Your registration fee includes access to asynchronous learning materials, 3 days of live, in-person sessions, and most meals on-site. Recorded talks will be shared after the meeting.
-
You may also opt-in to the Saturday night banquet. Join NAF staff, faculty, and our patient community for inspiring messages, a delicious meal, and a fabulous dance party—complete with an unconventional conga line! Banquet tickets are offered at-cost ($125) and we encourage all ACT trainees to join.
Course details, including a day-by-day agenda and required prerequisite activities, will be shared with registered attendees via email ahead of the in-person event. Please watch your inbox and reach out to Aimee Alcott at aimee@ataxia.org with questions.
Certificates of completion will be provided to all attendees who complete assigned prerequisites, attend all in-person sessions, and complete post-event outcomes evaluations.
