About This Event
The stories that nonprofits tell serve as a driving force of change for the entities they serve. Nonprofit development teams have the power to captivate, inspire, and motivate others to take action in ways that impact volunteerism, fundraising, community awareness, and public trust. Stories of hope, perseverance, renewal, and potential are tools that can create context and purpose to propel mission-driven organizations toward successful outcomes. However, it’s important to do so in a way that uplifts — not exploits — the narrative.
Please join us on Tuesday, October 13 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM for our October luncheon program, The Art of Ethical Storytelling, presented by Bridget Jackson, founder and principal of Nexus Public Relations.
This program will engage and inform fundraisers as they begin to execute their year-end campaigns, or plan for their 2027 appeals. The Art of Ethical Storytelling will examine how being mindful of power, privilege, and representation can shape the development of a story.
Attendees will gain an understanding of how a trauma-informed approach to interviewing and sharing stories promotes inclusive and equitable story gathering practices.
Agenda
11:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Check-in and Networking
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Lunch served by Hot Lips Pizza
