About This Event
HEROES ARE FAR MORE COMMON IN REAL LIFE THAN THEY ARE IN THE MOVIES
Anyone can be a hero when they help others unselfishly. We are heroes when we offer love, support or guidance to anyone. Or when we serve as a strong, loving, and motivational figure in their lives.
Navigating recovery requires us to show courage, resilience, strength and determination. These are the behaviors of a true hero and allow us to provide an example to others in their path to recovery.
The ACHR Hero Run is our annual 5k event that helps us provide services and supports to adults living with substance use, mental/behavioral health, or co-occurring challenges.
ACHR continues to champion our members in their path to recovery. One way that we do so is the Hero Run. The donations from the Hero Run allow us to offer guidance and support, using our lived experience to offer compassionate accountability to our members in their path to recovery. Our staff members are all Certified Peer Support Workers who have successfully navigated their own path to recovery, and use the lessons gained to assist others.
We strive to create a professional environment that encourages our staff to use their invaluable knowledge gained from experience to guide others along their personal path to recovery.
We use the donations gained from the Hero Run to provide ongoing professional development and certifications to our staff members. The knowledge, skills and abilities gained during these sessions directly impact and improve the service of ACHR and the lives of our members. We also use the donations to obtain supplies for group sessions, packaged food and water for our members to sustain themselves in the desert setting, clothing for members who need it, and personal hygiene items that are sorely needed.
Your donation goes directly to these services and individuals, with no administrative fees taken out or costs levied. It helps us help others who have nowhere else to go, and to provide hope in times of need.
Please be a HERO by helping us guide others!
