About the Series

Land as Muse is a multi-weekend arts series exploring how the environment around us inspires creativity. Set across the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s historic 330-acre riverside landscape, the series brings together visual art, film, workshops, and immersive experiences that honor the history and creative inspiration of the land.

Kick off the series with an intimate evening with local and regional artists, featuring Cynthia Rudzis, who will unveil four newly commissioned stained glass panels, and Nicole Bourgea’s newly completed mural on the Pavilion wall. (Bundle-only access.)

Experience the life and legacy of Lenore Thomas Straus, a New Deal-era sculptor whose work—and worldview—were shaped by the land, community, and history of Accokeek.

September 26, 2026
Journey through the farm's signature buildings while discovering the flavors of Maryland. Enjoy locally inspired cuisine, wines from Port of Leonardtown Winery, St Mary's County and craft beer from Mully's Brewery in Calvert County at the Pavilion, then continue to the Barn for a curated tasting hosted by the Maryland Wine Association, featuring wines from across the state. Then make your way up to the Farmhouse for dessert and the sunset.
