Connecting Through Art
Thursday, April 30th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Connecting Through Art is a creative arts program that offers people with Parkinson Disease the space and ability to express feelings, emotions, and daily concerns through the activity of drawing and painting. This program encourages participants to socialize virtually as they participate and share in this painting art activity. For people with Parkinson’s, participating in an art activity can help improve some of the symptoms of PD. The Connecting Through Art program will be facilitated by Art Therapist Emily Wells, with Here & Now Mental Wellness,. Emily will guide participants through a creative painting activity for today, and tomorrow for those who wish to continue. You will also enjoy the opportunity to share reflections and thoughts about your journey with Parkinson Disease. The program is free, but donations are appreciated to support our Mission.

Altered Art Book Project is a hands-on, low-pressure art program that invites participants to transform book pages into personal works of art. With guidance and easy to follow techniques and a supportive group setting, participants will engage fine motor skills while exploring color, texture, and imagery at their own pace. The experience encourages mindful self-care strategies that can be continued beyond the program, as well as a chance to spark creativity. Supports mindful self care through simple, repeatable techniques you can enjoy beyond this program Make new friends and socialize with our PD Community.
About the Instructor: Emily Wells, LCPC, ATR-BC
Emily Wells is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Board Certified Art Therapist who specializes in using creative processes to support emotional healing and self understanding. She believes creativity can be a powerful tool for connection, resilience, and growth. Emily is passionate about making art therapy accessible and empowering for the community.
