About This Event
The Humane Society of Broward County is excited to introduce our new Animal-Assisted Wellness classes to the South Florida community. These unique sessions harness the healing power of the human-animal bond to support and restore the mind, body, and spirit—promoting balance, relaxation, and overall well-being.
All classes include special animal guests. Best of all, the classes help socialize the puppies (or other babies) and raise awareness for pet adoption.
Animal-Assisted Wellness Classes:
Puppy Yoga
Puppy Yoga combines the relaxation and mindfulness of traditional yoga with the joy and playfulness of puppies. Participants flow through gentle yoga poses while adorable, adoptable puppies from the Humane Society of Broward County roam freely, offering snuggles, kisses, and playful interactions. The experience promotes stress relief, laughter, and connection—both with the animals and with fellow participants.
The class is 60 minutes long. Up to 30 participants in each class.
Mindful Paws
Mindful Paws is a class designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Participants are guided through a calming journey that includes mindful meditation, sound therapy, and gentle movement therapy—all enhanced by the comforting presence of animals to end the session. This unique experience encourages relaxation, balance, and deeper connection through the healing power of the human-animal bond.
The class is 60 minutes long. Up to 30 participants in each class.
Healing Paws Chakra Flow
This unique class invites participants to restore harmony and balance through the ancient practice of chakra alignment. Guided by soothing sound therapy, breathwork, movement, and the healing properties of essential oils, attendees will experience deep relaxation and energetic renewal—all while surrounded by the calming presence of shelter animals. The session nurtures the mind, body, and spirit.
The class is 60 minutes long. Up to 30 participants in each class.
----------------------------------------------
CLASS POLICY: We welcome participants of all ages (parental supervision must be provided for any participants under 13 years old). To help create a calm, respectful environment for everyone and our animals, disruptive behavior isn’t permitted. If interruptions continue, we may ask the individual to exit the session.
REFUND POLICY: We understand life happens! We are happy to refund you if you cannot make the class, but do require you do so at least 24 hours before the class start time. This gives us a chance to fill the spot. If you are a no-show to a class we will consider it a donation to the homeless animals.
NOTE: To help sustain and expand this program while covering increased costs and raising as much support as possible for homeless animals, pricing will be adjusted for classes starting in September.
Forms must be filled out by individual. You will not be able to register multiple participants on one form.
