As a New Yorker, a runner, a clinical social worker, and a survivor of sexual abuse in sport, I could not be more honored to be representing TAOS in the 2025 NYC Marathon.
Too many athletes have entered competition seeking esteem-building, camaraderie, joy, healthy challenge, and embodiment, only to be met with abuse. Toomany athletes have suffered. I am running for them, for me, and for anyone who has felt ashamed, afraid, silenced, or invalidated in their sport. Reconnecting with distance running has been profoundly healing for me, so it feels fitting that my first marathon will help ensure a future where athletes of all identities and across all levels are free to compete without the threat of sexual violence, institutional failure, or retaliation for reporting.
Please join me in supporting TAOS’ tireless work: grassroots programming, state and nation-level policy advocacy, community organizing, and coalition building. Your donation will help make healing and empowerment a reality for every survivor and victim of sexual abuse in sport. See you November 2nd!
