Upcoming Sessions- Spring 2026 in Guilford and Fall 2026 in Farmington
This 8-week closed session APDA Parkinson Roadmap for Education and Support Services™ was initially developed to provide an opportunity for people with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and their care partners and other family members to meet with others facing a similar experience and share coping strategies regarding day-to-day issues related to living with Parkinson’s. For many people with PD, the support group is a gateway into the world of PD advocacy, education, and services available in their community. It is a place to share their feelings in a safe, caring environment and gather to share information and resources.
Next Session
April 21, 2026, through June 9, 2026, meeting every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for eight sessions at UCONN Health Neurology, 5 Munson road. Farmington, CT- Registration Link coming soon.
Have you been living with Parkinson’s disease for five or more years and now find yourself:
- Struggling more with the motor and non-motor symptoms of PD?
- Taking more time or needing help with dressing, grooming, meal preparation, shopping, paperwork, driving, and other tasks?
- Experiencing changes in mood or thinking?
- More concerned about the future?
- Unable to do some things that you used to enjoy?
If so, you might be a good fit for APDA’s newest series – PRESS ON
This special 8-week program for people who are in the middle stages of Parkinson’s disease.
PRESS ON offers the opportunity for connecting with others with Parkinson’s disease for emotional support and sharing. The group also provides education about the progression of Parkinson’s disease and planning for the future. Individuals who might be a good fit for the group are people who have been living with Parkinson’s for 5+ years and are experiencing noticeable symptoms of PD that make daily life harder. Care partners are encouraged to attend the PRESS ON sessions, although the individual with PD should be able to attend alone if necessary.
Next Session - February 10th- March 31st 2026 Tuesdays from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
APDA Care Partner Connection Program is a multi-week Care Partner support series. Modeled after the APDA PRESS program for newly diagnosed, this series offers the opportunity to connect with other care partners for emotional support and sharing. The group also provides education about planning for the future and practical resources. This group was designed for care partners who are looking for a space to share their feelings and learn more about PD caregiving considerations.
Classes will consist of interactive sessions; discussions and brainstorming to help you take the tools and resources you learn about and put them into action in your life. Winter 2026 this program is being held virtually.
