APDA Minnesota Parkinson's Education Program - Rochester

About This Event

Join APDA Minnesota for the Parkinson's Educational Program, an educational event designed for people living with Parkinson's disease, care partners, family members, and community members seeking practical, evidence-informed information from medical and rehabilitation professionals.

This Rochester program will feature presentations on movement, exercise, balance, gait, Parkinson's disease and atypical parkinsonism, and current treatment options. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, ask questions, and participate in a brief movement break during the program.

  • Sommer L. Amundsen-Huffmaster, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Research, Department of Neurology; Affiliate Faculty, Rehabilitation Science Graduate Program

What You'll Learn

Participants will leave with:

  1. An understanding of how exercise, balance, and movement can play an important role in living well with Parkinson's disease.
  2. A better understanding of gait changes in Parkinson's disease.
  3. Knowledge of current treatment options for Parkinson's disease.

The goal of this program is to empower participants with knowledge, practical strategies, and resources to better understand and navigate Parkinson's disease while connecting with professionals and others in the Parkinson's community.
