APDA Florida looks forward to connecting with our unique community of Persons living with Parkinson's (PWP). After many community assessments and great program feedback, the team determined Floridians living alone and have a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease (PD) need specific resources, education, and support.
Flying Solo is a Support Group for those navigating their journey with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) without a direct Care Partner. The Virtual group is FREE of charge and facilitated by experienced ambassadors passionate about helping the PD community.
A few examples of a Person With Parkinson's Without a Life Partner are:
- Widows/Widowers
- A Person with PD whose support system provides care from afar (family/friends out of state/country or outside of driving distance)
- A Person with PD who lives on a Care Campus and would like to socialize/share with PD peers outside of thier community
- A Person with PD who has not shared thier PD diagnosis with family/friends (you will have the option to change your screen name and turn off your camera for privacy)
We are excited to introduce our monthly virtual Navigating without a Care Partner meeting via ZOOM on the 1st Thursday of the month starting at 1PM EST. There is no charge to participants.
Join today and let's navigate your journey together!
*Disclaimer: This group is NOT a singles club and not intended for matchmaking.*
