APDA Florida looks forward to connecting with our unique community of Parkinson’s Care Partners. In the PD world we call them Care Partners and not Care Givers as the patient must buy in to treatment and managing symptoms, medication, and movement alongside their support system. This can be stressful for relationships and family bonds that are new to or are taking on a new role unexpectedly. When someone you love is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD), it is natural to feel a range of emotions from confusion to anger to fear.
Taking care of yourself is as important as caring for your loved one with PD. It is crucial to find support for yourself as a Care Partner so that you care for yourself while caring for your loved one. We are honored to support you!
We are excited to introduce our weekly Care Partner Support Group meeting via zoom every 2nd and 4th THURSDAY of the month starting at 2PM EST. There is no charge to participants.
In partnership with MorseLife Care Management and Counseling, our group will be lead by Megan Bernat, LCSW and supported by the APDA Florida Chapter staff and ambassadors. Join today and let's navigate your PD Care Partner journey together!
