About This Event

Join us for a FREE hands-on workshop focused on building empathy as a practical, usable skill. Whether you’re leading a team, working alongside community partners, or navigating hard conversations at home, you’ll walk away with tools to respond with steadiness and genuine connection.

Lunch will be provided.

What You’ll Gain

Empathy isn't instinctive for everyone—and that's okay. This workshop treats empathy as a skill you can build through practice. Through a blend of theory and hands-on exercises, you will:

  • Learn what empathy actually is (and what it isn't).

  • Discover how empathetic responses can deescalate tension and build trust.

  • Strengthen your interpersonal presence.

  • Explore how trauma impacts behavior and communication.

  • Learn how to recognize your skills gaps.

Workshop Structure

This is a practice-based session combining theory, modeling, and real-world application.

We'll start with foundational concepts and ground rules, then move into scenario-based exercises and role plays that mirror the challenges you face in your work and life. You'll have opportunities to recognize your skills gaps, develop grounded responses, and strengthen your interpersonal presence through group discussions and guided practice.

What to Bring

We'll provide printed materials for the workshop including pens.

Feel free to bring a notebook if you'd like to take additional notes beyond what's provided.

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is ideal for leaders, team members, community workers, and anyone looking to foster deeper connection, accountability, and belonging in their professional and personal relationships.

Come ready to engage, practice, and build new skills in a supportive environment!
