About This Event

Reimagining Healthcare & Community for Autistic People

by Mel Houser, M.D., Tues 4/11/23 - 6-7 PM ET (Zoom) + recorded for later viewing

All Brains Belong VT invites anyone who cares about autistic people to attend our second annual training on Reimagining Healthcare & Community. This webinar will be presented by autistic physician, Mel Houser, M.D.,  Founder and Executive Director of All Brains Belong VT, who provides medical care to autistic kids and adults across the lifespan.

The Status Quo is Failing Autistic People

Autistic people have an average life expectancy of age 36-54 years. Leading causes of death are premature cardiovascular disease and suicide. Extensive research shows that autistic people are dissatisfied with their healthcare, experience significant barriers in accessing care, and feel marginalized and stigmatized by the healthcare system.

Reimaging Healthcare & Community

Let’s travel together on the journey of unlearning outdated concepts toward the pursuit of inclusive, comprehensive care for autistic patients of all ages.

Participants will leave with concrete strategies for being more inclusive of autistic patients (and everyone else who learns, thinks, or communicates differently from one’s self).

Tickets are available by donation. All donations are tax-deductible will support All Brains Belong's neuroinclusive community programs for kids and adults.
