chance

Updates

Chance is now stable, and we’re grateful he’s safe and receiving the care he needs. After evaluating his injury, the veterinarian determined that the damage to his leg is too severe to heal properly. Even with months of treatment, the wounds may never fully recover.

The best chance for Chance to live a comfortable, pain-free life is amputation, and his surgery is scheduled for Thursday.

While this is a big step, dogs are incredibly resilient, and three-legged dogs often go on to live happy, active lives.

We’re incredibly grateful to Firehouse Animal Health Center for stepping in to evaluate Chance and help guide the next steps in his care.

Chance didn’t ask for this.

He was found wandering his neighborhood with a suspected gunshot wound through his leg, injured and alone, and was immediately brought to Texas Humane Heroes for help.

Injured animals like Chance rely on us when they have nowhere else to go.

Unfortunately, our veterinarian is out of the office right now. That means Chance must receive emergency care at an outside veterinary clinic, which will quickly add up to a significant medical bill.

Right now, compassionate supporters like you are the reason animals like Chance can receive lifesaving treatment, pain relief, and the chance to heal.

A generous gift from Cedar Park Overhead Doors is matching donations dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000, doubling the impact of every gift.

Your donation today will help provide emergency care, medications, and follow-up treatment, giving Chance the opportunity to recover and experience safety and love.

We’re incredibly grateful to our friends at Firehouse Animal Health Center for stepping in on such short notice to help give Chance the care he needs.

Please give today and help give Chance the second chance he deserves.
