About This Event

Art in Bloom is a free community celebration hosted by Charlotte Family Housing to honor the Mighty Moms in our program and the powerful women all around us. Come together to create a community mural, make floral bouquets for moms living in CFH shelters, and hear an original poem performed by local artist, Hannah Hasan.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT ART IN BLOOM:

  • Make & Take Flower Bouquets: Make a bouquet to brighten the day of a mom currently living in one of our shelters — then make a second one to take home for yourself or for a mighty woman in your life.
  • Community Mural: Pick up a spray paint can and add your mark to a collective mural being painted live at the event. Together, we'll create something beautiful that honors the strength of women in Charlotte.
  • "Mighty Women" Public Art Display: Bring a printed photograph of a mighty woman you admire — a mother, grandmother, mentor, hero — to contribute to a public art installation on display at the event. (Don't have a printer? No worries we’ll have one at the event)
  • Storytelling Program: Settle in for a short, meaningful program featuring the real stories of Mighty Moms in the Charlotte Family Housing program and an original poem performed by local artist, Hannah Hasan. Celebrate the strength of women navigating hardship with grace, grit, and love
