About This Event

This dance class consists of modified jazz, modern, musical theatre and contemporary steps and stretches set to music helping move the body in a new and meaningful way. Participants will benefit from the increased intentional movement and cognitive challenge, while being social and having fun!  Instructor:  Kate Bircher.

Kate Bircher is a third-year student pursuing degrees in Philosophy/Neuroscience/Psychology (PNP) and Dance at Washington University in St. Louis. Researcher of Movement Science, specifically discovering dance as a cognitive and physical intervention for groups with Neurodegenerative Diseases, with an emphasis on Parkinson’s. Passionate about using her pre-professional dance education, academic pursuits, and dance teaching experience to help create a sustainable and healthier future of dance education, particularly with seniors through her work teaching with Vitality In Motion.
