2024 ACP Auction Gala and Twilight Cocktail

About the 2024 ACP Auction Gala

Join Us for an Unforgettable Evening Celebrating Photography!

On October 2, art, culture, and elegance converge at the 2024 ACP Auction Gala and Twilight Cocktail. This annual celebration unites Atlanta’s vibrant community of photographers, collectors, and arts patrons to raise funds for the Atlanta Center for Photography and toast to photography and its makers.

THE HONOREES

This year, we are thrilled to honor two extraordinary luminaries in the world of photography:

Ming Smith
Detroit-born and Harlem-based, Ming Smith is a trailblazer as the first Black woman to have work acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. As a pioneering member of Kamoinge, a collective of Black photographers, she has documented Black life since the 1960s. Her work is included in the Whitney Museum of American Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Detroit Institute of Arts, and many others. Her exhibition, Ming Smith: Feeling the Future, is currently on view at Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.

Lucinda Weil Bunnen
A transformative figure in the South’s photography community, Lucinda Bunnen was a dedicated artist, collector, and philanthropist. Her passion for photography blossomed on a family vacation, leading to a prolific career and significant contributions to the arts community. She co-founded Nexus, now known as Atlanta Contemporary, and helped establish the photography department at the High Museum of Art with a generous gift from her collection. We honor Lucinda Bunnen in memoriam as a vital benefactor of photography in Atlanta and beyond.
