About This Event
The Backyard Chicken Program is an annual activity. New baby chicks arrive each year and are introduced at the farm’s annual Chicken Run fundraiser in early April.
You may sign-up for one chick per family or one chick per participant.
The cost for the entire program is $60/each chick, which helps to cover the animal’s food and care during their stay at the farm. (50% discount for members - send email for code to info@strongfarm.org)
The Backyard Chicken Program takes place on alternating Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. All classes are in The Big Yellow Barn at the Historic Strong Family Farm, 274 West Street, Vernon, CT
Beginning on June 25, classes then take place on July 9, July 23, August 6, August 20, September 3, September 17, and October1
Though classes end on October 2nd, the fun continues at the Harvest Festival and Craft Fair on October 19th. That is when program participants gather up for our famous CHICKEN PARADE around the festival grounds!
