For 53 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Birmingham (BBBS) has seen first-hand the impact that a positive role model can have on the life of a child. At BBBS, young people are matched with caring mentors, and when a Little (mentee) has a Big (mentor) in their corner, their whole world changes. Research has shown that youth who have a caring mentor are less likely to use drugs, less likely to skip school and more likely to attend college. Whether it’s excelling in school, learning a new skill, exploring their interests, or setting BIG goals for the future, Littles know they have someone cheering them on every step of the way. That’s the power of mentorship, and you can help us make matches that impact the lives of young people by sponsoring GLOW on the Green.
