About the Speaker
Keri Watson, Ph.D., is assistant director of the School of Visual Arts and Design and associate professor of art history at the University of Central Florida. She also directs the Florida Prison Education Project. Watson serves on the board of the Association of Historians of American Art and is co-executive editor and finance and grants manager for Panorama: Journal of the Association of Historians of American Art. She is the author of Florida’s New Deal Parks and Post Office Murals (2024) and co-author of two books published in 2023: Visual and Performing Arts Collaborations in Higher Education (with Julia Listengarten) and This Is America: Re-Viewing the Art of the United States (with Keidra Daniels Navaroli). She also co-edited The Routledge Companion to Art and Disability (2022) with Timothy Hiles. Her research has been supported by a Fulbright fellowship and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, Florida Humanities, the Terra Foundation for American Art, the Wyeth Foundation for American Art, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
