About This Event

"Freedom and Liberation"

Freedom and Liberation is a stirring musical journey inspired by Coretta Scott King’s visionary Freedom Concerts. More than a performance, it is a reflection on history and the enduring pursuit of justice. Through a powerful blend of music and narrative, the Ritz Chamber Players evoke the resilience, advocacy, and hope that defined the Civil Rights Movement. Known as the steadfast partner of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King was also a classically trained soprano, with degrees from Antioch College and the New England Conservatory of Music. She believed in culture’s power to advance freedom, often weaving spirituals and classical works into civil rights events. By uniting soul‑stirring music with stories that shaped a generation, Freedom and Liberation honors her courage and artistry.

Each ticket includes a free meal (vegetarian and gluten-free options available).
Meal service begins at 6:00 p.m.
Speaker presentation begins at 7:00 p.m.
