'Tis the season to get crafty! Make a necklace using real iridescent beetle wings in this science and art class!
Learn from entomologist Heather Andrews about why and how insects use coloration to survive! Participants can make a pendant using handmade glass beads and real beetle wings. And since we are getting into the holidays, there will also be an option to decorate holiday cards, perfect for gift-giving this year!
Instructor Bio:
Heather Andrews is a research entomologist at Oregon State University. She works at a university extension office in Aurora where she studies growing practices in orchard crops that minimize their negative impact on the environment while maximizing yield. In her free time she makes jewelry, draws and also plays the harp.
