In September 2026, I’ll be running the Berlin Marathon to raise money for The POLG Foundation. POLG disease is a rare genetic mitochondrial disorder that affects the body’s ability to produce energy. It can have devastating effects on the brain, muscles, nerves, liver, and other organs, and currently there is no cure; The POLG Foundation funds vital research into treatments and ultimately a cure, while supporting families affected by this condition.
Running a marathon is a challenge, but it is nothing compared with what people living with POLG face every day. Any donation, big or small, would mean a huge amount and help support an incredibly important cause.
