About This Event
As part of its "Born from Conflict: A 17th Century Living History Event," St. Luke's Historic Church & Museum will host a special Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, September 12, at 2:30 p.m. Led by Feminist Anthropologist Chadra Pitman of The Sankofa Projects, the ceremony will commemorate the lives of Indigenous and African people who suffered violence and displacement during and in the aftermath of Bacon's Rebellion of 1676, one of the most consequential and tragic events in early Virginia history.
