Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flint and Genesee County will celebrate Dr. King through its 18th Annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast on Monday, January 15, 2024 at St. Michaels Conference Center. Registration is from 8:30-9:00 a.m. with the program beginning promptly at 9 a.m. The purpose of the annual Mentoring Inspiration Breakfast is to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy through the promotion of a commitment to mentorship and service in our community. Mr. James Avery, Genesee County Commissioner and Flint & Genesee Group Director of Talent Development, will serve as Master of Ceremony.
Mr. Shon Y. Hart will be the keynote speaker for this year’s event. Founder and Executive Director of InvolvedDad
Shon Hart is a thriving entrepreneur, renowned personal and business coach, and nationally-recognized speaker. A former football player at Michigan State University, he channels his competitive spirit into empowering diverse audiences through dynamic keynotes and training sessions. As a five-time published author, including works like "From Average 2 Elite" and "Man 2 Man," Shon inspires individuals at universities, high schools, and businesses.
With a focus on responsible fatherhood, Shon serves as a presenter, trainer, and consultant. In 2015, he founded InvolvedDad (ID), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting responsible fatherhood and building stronger families and communities. Shon's passion lies in helping men maximize their manhood through self-actualization and rediscovery of their true identity. His straight-from-the-heart approach and high-energy style leave a lasting impact, motivating audiences to overcome limitations and step into their greatness.
National Mentoring Month culminates on January 25, 2024 with #ThankYourMentorDay. This day is dedicated to anyone who has benefitted from a mentor thanking their mentor.
