About This Event
Anupam & Krista’s Big Oktoberfest
Benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa
Anupam Mittra: A Big, an Impact board member, and the reason Oktoberfest doubles as a fundraising event, is hosting a night that checks every box: beer, brats, and a cause that actually matters.
The beer line up:
Ayinger Brewery - Oktoberfest-Märzen (Munich)
Weihenstephaner Brewery - Hefeweissbier (Munich)
Russian River Brewing - Pliny the elder DIPA (California)
Heretic Brewing - Shallow Grave Porter (California)
Backup: Deschutes Brewing - Fresh Pressed IPA (Oregon)
Expect authentic German food, raffles and auctions that tempt your wallet, and games you’ll insist you could have won if the rules weren’t rigged. We’ll also hear from the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa, because this isn’t just a party, it’s about mentoring relationships that change kids’ lives.
Every ticket, every pint, every raffle entry helps match more kids with mentors. Which means yes, you can now drink beer and call it philanthropy!
So come raise a stein, eat too much sausage, and pretend you knew all along that Oktoberfest was about charity.
GAMES
Stein Holding Contest (Masskrugstemmen)
Contestants hold a full 1L stein at arm’s length until they drop.
Hammerschlagen
Each player hammers a nail into a stump with one strike per turn.
Oktoberfest Word Games / Trivia
German word guessing, BBBS trivia, or Oktoberfest history quiz.
Sausage on a Rope
Players try to eat a sausage on a rope without using their hands
SILENT AUCTION
We will have 10-15 very nice silent auction items. More information as we get closer to the event.
