It is with sad, but forever grateful, hearts that we share the news of June Braunlich’s recent passing.

Back in the early eighties, June and her late husband Bill, were among the early founders and supporters of what is now Epilepsy Foundation New England. Throughout the time since then, June and Bill were a constant source of support, encouragement, strength and leadership for EFNE.

Having a child with epilepsy, June knew first-hand the challenges a family faces living with epilepsy. Yet, she turned this grief into action. While Bill served as Board President of our local organization, and later the Board President of the National Epilepsy Foundation, June was a strong and constant pillar of strength; serving on various committees, always supporting and promoting our programs and growth. She personally offered individual support to parents and families, raising funds and awareness. She was a fierce advocate for her daughter and countless others.

June helped to shepherd our growth, from the Epilepsy Association of Greater Boston to today’s EFNE. Though it all, June’s warmth and good humor were forever present.

In recognition of their many contributions and leadership, in 2023 EFNE’s Board of Directors established the June & Bill Braunlich Endowed Fund. This fund, now in their memory, continues their legacy, supporting local programs for people living with epilepsy.

We share our sympathy with June’s daughters, Kristin and Heidi, their extended family and wide circle of friends.

In June’s memory you can donate to the June & Bill Braunlich Endowed Fund here or by mail  c/o Epilepsy Foundation New England, 175 Cabot Street – Suite 301, Lowell, MA 01854.
