Gull Point Bird Walk 7/22/26 - Discover Presque Isle

Only 12 tickets left!

About This Event

Join Erie Bird Observatory during Discover Presque Isle to celebrate 10 years of Piping Plovers returning to nesting in Pennsylvania. We will take a morning bird walk to Gull Point, where you may have the chance to observe and learn more about the federally- and state-endangered Piping Plover from the safety of an observation tower.

Additional Info

  • Registration Required. Please include the names of each member of your group.

  • The walk will begin at the Beach 10 parking lot, taking the beach route to the wooded path that leads out to Gull Point. The first part of this walk is moderate difficulty on soft sand. The wooded portion of the path is considered easy, although the path contains some exposed roots and unlevel ground. The total distance is about 3 miles round-trip.

  • All walks run rain or shine unless weather conditions are too dangerous to safely be out.

  • Dress for the weather, especially for sun protection. Layers are always a good choice. Bring insect repellent; bring plenty of water and snacks.

  • Wear comfortable footwear that you don’t mind possibly getting a little muddy.

  • Emails are typically sent out the night before if any changes are required.

  • Look for the Erie Bird Observatory sign. Please arrive on time to your walk so we can get in as much birding as possible.
