About This Event

Bishop's Leadership Retreat is an opportunity for Rostered Ministers, candidates for ministry serving on our territory and set-apart members of the Order of St. Stephen Deacon to gather for learning, collegiality and time apart. 

Theme for 2025:  Space to Breathe

Chaplain: Sister Dottie Almoney 

Speaker: Dr. Monica Coleman

​Monica A. Coleman is professor of Africana Studies at the University of Delaware and an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She speaks widely on religion and sexuality, religious pluralism, churches & social media, mental health, and sexual and domestic violence.  She is the author of “Making a Way Out of No Way: a Womanist Theology” and “Bipolar Faith: a Black Woman’s Journey with Depression and Faith.”

 

The event will begin with a welcome and fellowship time at 7:45pm Sunday evening, Oct. 12th (registration begins at 6:30pm) and will end after lunch on Tuesday, Oct. 14th.  Programming on Monday will begin after breakfast (around 9:00am) and conclude after evening worship (around 8:30pm)
