Black Gold Jubilee Volleyball Tournament

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Black Gold Jubilee Volleyball Tournament! We’re thrilled that you’ve applied to be part of this exciting event. 

By completing this transaction, you are agreeing to and accepting the rules and regulations set forth by the Black Gold Jubilee.

I reviewed and agreed to follow the “Rules and Regulations” as provided by The Black Gold Jubilee. In consideration of my acceptance of this entry, I, the undersigned, intend to be legally bound, for myself, my teammates, heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims against the Black Gold Jubilee, H E Hill Foundation, Inc., City of Belle Glade, Belle Glade Chamber of Commerce, as well as their volunteers, officers, directors, attorneys and affiliated entities, as a result of any damages or injuries arising out of my participation in this event. 

Photography Release Waiver: By way of entering the Black Gold Jubilee participants acknowledge and authorize Black Gold Jubilee, Sponsors and affiliated professionals to edit, change, copy, and make any use of all photographs of me to be used for promotional materials. It is acknowledged that participants will not be entitled to payment or any sort of charge for such action. Participation authorizes the use of my photograph for, but not limited to, publication on the internet, magazines, journals, books, articles, etc., provided that it is done for lawful purposes.

Participants release all rights to any, but not limited to, claims, rights, demands, and/or any causes of action by participants or their representatives, heirs or anyone else.  Furthermore, participants right to any royalty or any other compensation with regard to the usage of the photos referred to in this form. 

Disclaimer and Liability Waiver: The undersigned is aware that there will be no refund of entry fee if the Black Gold Jubilee is cancelled because of weather or circumstances beyond the control of the Black Gold Jubilee. LIABILITY WAIVER: The undersigned for themselves, heirs, executors, and administrator release the Black Gold Jubilee, its members, H E Hill Foundation Inc., City of Belle Glade, Belle Glade Chamber of Commerce, volunteers, and representative and all parties involved from ANY AND ALL liability and damages that may occur as a result of participation in the Black Gold Jubilee.

Designation of responsibility: As a lessee and a participant in the Black Gold Jubilee, I understand I am responsible for obtaining all proper licenses and certificates, collecting, and paying all applicable taxes and adhering to all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the State of Florida.

Additional Event Information:

• Volleyball Teams will consist of 10 players. 
• Players of all ages are welcome and Co-ed rules will be used. 
• The tournament will begin Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 12:30 pm. 
• There will be a manditory captain’s meeting at 12:00 pm -  team members must be ready by this time. 
• Each player will be required to sign a release form. 
• Release forms must be turned in by 3:00 pm on or before Friday, April 4, 2025. They may be turned in to the Belle Glade Chamber of Commerce or to Shelly Burch at Glades Day School. 
• Each team will be assigned a color, and the team will be responsible for wearing that color shirt during the tournament.
• Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

Tournament Ground Rules:

1.  In the event a team cannot field six players, it may play with four or five as long as two of the four or five are females.
2. No one may be added to the roster once play has begun.
3. Only the designated captain may speak to the referee during matches.
4. The decisions of the referee are final. No arguing will be tolerated. The referee hold the right to eject any player or team they feel is arguing.
5. Co-ed rules call for the ball to be struck by a female before it is returned to the opponents’ side unless it is only struck once.  Either sex may return it in this case.
6. In the event of foul weather or slow play, the tournament directors may change or alter these rules to accommodate the situation.
7. A maximum of 10 players will be allowed on the roster.
8. Anything not covered above will be ruled upon by the referees during play. The referees’ decisions are final.
9. Absolutely NO Outside music is allowed at the court or court area. Failure to comply is grounds for immediate disqualification.
