Black Opry is a fast-growing organization that seeks to create equity and opportunities for Black artists working in the country, Americana, folk, and roots music industries. This music has been made by and loved by Black people since its conception. For just as long, they have been overlooked and disregarded. Black Opry wants to change that. We see a more inclusive version of these genres that includes Black artists, fans, and executives within the industry. We plan to continue the conversation about how to evolve the country music industry (as well as other aforementioned genres) and create a space that is both safe for and helpful to Black voices.
