2024 Juneteenth Drum Circle

About This Event

Celebrate Juneteenth with rhythm and community spirit at the 2024 Juneteenth Drum Circle, held in the heart of Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park. This event invites participants of all ages to join in a powerful communal drumming experience led by skilled drummers and a liberation ceremony led by  Yoruba priests.
Feel the beat of history as drums resonate through the park, symbolizing unity and collective memory. Share in the vibrancy of a traditional African Drum Circle to connect with the community. Drum circles are traditionally held as a celebration prior to important community events. Join us and enjoy an evening of music and fellowship.

Admission to the drum circle is complimentary, but participants are kindly asked to RSVP to ensure enough instruments and space for everyone. Local vendors and food trucks will be onsite, offering delicious eats and unique, local goods for purchase. Personal lawn chairs are welcome, but no outside food or alcoholic beverages are allowed. Please park at Cherry Hill School at the corner of Dillion and Beach City Road HHI, SC.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of drumming, dancing, and celebrating freedom at this vibrant Juneteenth event!
