Poetry, Portals and Place: An Amble at Bluestem
Monday, November 9th 2026
3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Join us for our second annual poetry amble at Bluestem, hosted by poet Gabrielle Calvocoressi. Together with poets Tyree Daye and Michelle Lanier, we will listen, read, and consider how poetry and place create portals that lead us deeper into our understanding of beginnings, endings, and the everlasting after. There will be an opportunity to make poems, to make conversation, and to partake of snacks. In this season of harvest and the approaching solstice, let’s spend some time together in the poem that is Bluestem. Let’s amble!
We’ll begin seated in Bluestem’s Pond Sanctuary at 3:00 p.m., as the sun is beginning its journey down. This is an amble for all, including those for whom staying peacefully in one place is preferable. There will be options to walk and/or to sit. Bring a light snack or beverage to share, if you wish.
*Please remember that Bluestem is a very natural place. Parking is limited, so carpool if you can. Dress for the weather. Bring along a camp chair if you prefer it to a bench. There is no potable water nor refrigeration/heating for food onsite. Please note mobility needs below.
Registration is required and will close when capacity is reached.
