About This Event
Every Thanksgiving season, Dare to Care and Interfaith Paths to Peace lead a vigil to raise awareness about hunger in our community and to remember Bobby Ellis, the nine-year-old boy whose death from malnutrition in 1969 sparked the Dare to Care movement.
The Bobby Ellis Memorial Vigil includes a program at Byck Elementary – the school that Bobby Ellis attended - followed by a candle-lit performance by The West Louisville Performing Arts Academy.
5:00 pm: Doors open at Byck Elementary School
5:30 pm: Program begins
6:30 pm: Event concludes
Dare to Care Food Bank will be taking non-perishable food donations at the event for Byck Elementary’s school pantry.
All are welcome to attend this free, community event. Registration is encouraged for planning purposes.
