The Bring Our Families Home Campaign is a campaign of family members of Americans currently held hostage and wrongfully detained abroad. The Campaign includes the parents, children, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends of Americans whose only crime is being American and who are now being used as political pawns.

We Need Your Help to #BringThemHome

The Bring Our Families Home Campaign is a family-led campaign advocating for the release of loved ones held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad simply for being Americans. The Campaign urges the President to take immediate, decisive action and to use every tool available to secure their prompt return.

According to the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, there are currently over 60 innocent Americans being held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad. In addition to advocating for the release of these individuals, the Bring Our Families Home Campaign raises awareness of American hostages and wrongful detainees by sharing their stories, installing murals depicting their images, holding rallies, and utilizing guerrilla marketing.

ABOUT THE JAMES W. FOLEY LEGACY FOUNDATION

The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation was named after James W. Foley, an American freelance conflict journalist, who was kidnapped in 2012 while reporting from Syria. Jim was tortured and starved for nearly two years before his public execution by ISIS in 2014. During his captivity, Jim’s freedom was not a priority for the US government and his family struggled to get access and information.

Jim’s captivity and execution may seem out of the ordinary, but the reality is that thousands of Americans travel internationally for business, pleasure, educational and humanitarian work. We are all at risk of becoming one of hundreds of Americans held hostage or wrongfully detained abroad every year.
