Presented by Wolf River Conservancy

Wolf River Conservancy Baker’s Pond Hike

Registration ends Friday, 02/21/2025 12:00pm CST

About This Event

Please join us on a hike to the headwaters of The Wolf, Saturday February 22nd!

Baker’s Pond is the largest source spring of the Wolf River, which then flows 100 miles until it empties into the Mississippi River at downtown Memphis.

Located in the Holly Springs National Forest in Benton County, Mississippi. Baker's bond lies below a low red-clay bluff oozing with springwater. If you look on maps of Appalachia, you'll see how that mountain range's foothills wind their way west below the Tennessee River Valley, extending all the way to the North Mississippi Hill Country. This is a 1 mile out-and-back hike generally considered an easy route. The Baker’s Pond Trail is great for birding and hiking, open year-round and beautiful to visit anytime.

Hikers will meet at the trailhead at 10am, where Conservancy staff will lead a hike to the source of the Wolf.

We hope to see you there!
