Presented by Starr Library

An Evening at Foster's Coach House for Starr Library

Registration ends Thursday, 06/18/2026 11:59pm EDT

About This Event

We’re gathering a small group of our champions to share an evening of conversation, celebration, and community—and we’re eager to have you with us!

Last fall, our community voted overwhelmingly to increase the Library’s annual funding by $82,000, continuing to affirm our role as a place where people of all ages come to learn, connect, and grow. Unfortunately, the tax increase was not collected by the Town, leaving us with a budget shortfall for the first time in our collective memory.

We invite you to join us for a discussion about the current state of the Library and where Starr is headed.  The evening will include:

  • A talk with Dr. Thomas S. Wermuth, Academic Director of the Hudson River Valley Institute, Marist University professor, and author of the newly released book Fire and Freedom: The American Revolution in New York
  • A candid conversation about the Library’s future
  • An opportunity to ask questions and share your perspective

There is no admission price. Food has been generously provided by Foster’s Coach House. Open bar courtesy of Starr.

We ask that you please consider making a personally meaningful gift to Starr Library at this important moment.

Thanks to two generous patrons, the first $15,000 raised will be matched dollar for dollar. Your gift has never gone further!

Space is limited for this invite-only event.
